Rocky Mountain Fire Alarm Association Presentation

Topic: Li-ion Tamer Product Presentation

In today’s fast-paced world, lithium-ion batteries have become an important part of our lives, powering everything from smart phones to automobiles.  They are used to harness power from utility-scale power generation resources, and to store back-up UPS power for data centers and other critical commercial applications. Please join Greg Lyons, Lead Solutions Consultant with Honeywell Fire, for an in-person session discussing the risks and rewards of the use of lithium-ion batteries in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).  This session will also provide information on technologies addressing the fire risks associated with BESS/UPS Li-ion battery deployment, as well as changes to industry standards regarding protection of these spaces.

Speaker: Greg Lyons

Greg Lyons is a highly experienced professional in the field of fire safety and prevention, representing the entirety of the Honeywell Fire portfolio.  Greg has been with Honeywell for more than 17 years, and his experience spans across various cutting-edge life safety technologies and solutions from Honeywell including NOTIFIER, Gamewell/FCI, VESDA, System Sensor, Fiplex, and Li-ion Tamer, to name a few.  His proficiency in these and other Life Safety technologies enables him to effectively address the evolving challenges in fire safety and provide innovative solutions to his clients.  Based in Sarasota, FL, Greg manages the North American region and primarily focuses on fostering and nurturing relationships with the top Mission Critical data center and telecommunication providers and consultants worldwide.
